The Charles/MGH T station brought public transportation to Beacon Hill. Its placement overlooking the Charles River provides a scenic view for travelers. Courtesy of the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities.

The Charles/MGH MBTA station offers a picturesque view of the Charles River along the Red Line.

The station, constructed in 1932, has long been a fixture at the end of Cambridge Street. It provides transportation to the many commuters who travel to work at Mass General Hospital and neighboring businesses everyday.

The Charles/MGH T station today. The handicap un-friendly site will be renovated to become ADA compliant.

Completion of its renovations will transform this hovering piece of history into a modern site, encouraging visitors. Those who get off the train at the future Charles/MGH will step into an appealing, landscaped thoroughfare - much different from the elevated and pedestrian walkways that currently exist.

The futuristic Charles/MGH site. The new station will welcome travelers to the area, which will one day be completely renovated for greater traffic accessibility. Courtesy of Mass General Hospital.
